Welcome.

Welcome to my first post. I created this blog to share some of my cycling and climbing adventures in Colorado.
Why am I up so early today? Our dog started coughing and behaving pretty strangely in the middle of the night and I have a hard time getting back to sleep once I am fully away. It seems like he is back to his normal doggy self now. Anyway, I was able to get up early and get out for a ride on Saturday. I didn't feel so great. I really felt like I was dragging on the climb. Going down was fun of course but once I got back to the lower altitudes, it was pretty warm and I felt like I was going to puke. However, I did make it home okay. I did 52.2 miles in 3:22:26 for an average of 15.4 mph with a top speed of 42.8 mph and about 3300 feet of climbing.

All of my cycling life I have lived in rather flat places - South Jersey, Philly, St. Louis. It was hard for me to even imagine a 15 mile long (or more) climb, but now that is a reality. It is alot different than the short and intense climbs I have found in the past in these places.
Today we should get in a good gym session at The Spot before I have work. Tomorrow I hope to get out for a mountain bike ride. With all the rain we have gotten over the past month plus, it has been six weeks now since I have gotten out. Even if it didn't rain on my days off, I knew the trails would still be wet from the day before.
Wednesday we are going up to RMNP to for some bouldering. When we were there last week we found this huge boulder that seemed to have alot of potential for some slabby problems. I have to wonder why it hasn't been climbed before as it is visible from the road. Whatever the reason, it should be a fun day.
